New year = fresh slate

Oh hai 2016, welcome! I am very pleased to meet you. I love the promise of a new year, it's like a fresh start, a physical line drawn between one time and another where everything that happened over the previous 365 days can magically (theoretically) be forgotten, if you so wish. Last year was tough, I'm not going to lie and my blog posts became few and few between. But it also had some very high points sprinkled through that toughness to break it up a bit, a bit of glitter in the pile of poo that was 2015.

Mental Health Week 2015 – My mental health story

On Monday night a very interesting episode of ABC's 'Q and A' was on, it was a special edition for 'Mental Health Week' and the panel consisted of psychiatrists, mental health advocates, and industry specialists. One thing that was discussed at length was the stigma attached to mental health. It's sad that there is still such a stigma because so many people have issues in this department.

Wake up and smell the rainbow

Tina Turner asks us 'What's love got to do with it?' and the answer is, well, everything. The Beatles told us that all we needed was love, so clearly it is pretty important. A quick google search tells me that love is the most common song theme, out of all themes a person can possibly write a song about (and the possibilities are endless) love tops them all, there are literally millions of songs about love. But why is one love more acceptable, more equal than another?
