On Sunday I caught up with a fabulous friend of mine, Miss Lady A Broad, and she kindly let me interview her. Internationally published pinup model, graphic designer, wife, mother, fellow crazy bunny lady and winner of Australian and International pinup titles – Lady A Broad is a force to be reckoned with! She is also one of the most humble and genuinely lovely people I have had the pleasure of meeting.

Confessions of a creatoholic

Hi, my name is Claire and I am a createoholic. Yes it's totally a real word because I have decided it is! I suppose that while I'm getting it all out there I must also confess I have quite a collection of craft projects I've started over the years and never completed. Is that normal? Does it say something about my ability to dedicate myself to a task? About my level of commitment? My ability to concentrate? Am I over-thinking this at all...

Graceful in the Garden – the full, gathered skirt

The first sewing project of the year would have to be something simple enough to make with my injured hand (never underestimate the dangers of a tail comb!) and finished in time to add to my wardrobe for Ballarat Beat Rockabilly Festival. The full skirt is a staple in the wardrobe of any 50's fashion lover and Rock n' Roll dancer because of it's flattering shape and fun swishy skirt.

Fresh Starts

This year I have vowed to make more clothes than I buy. I have quite a stash of fabric sitting waiting to be turned into something fabulous and many patterns ready to be the tool to do just that. My wardrobe and drawers are filled with things I hardly wear for various reasons so I feel like I have nothing to wear. Nothing inspiring at any rate. So now I want to flex my sewing muscles and get down to business creating some new items for my wardrobe so I can feel inspired every time I open it instead of bored or defeated!
