There are a lot of amazingly creative and talented people in the world doing fascinating things every day and I love finding out more about them, what they’re doing and why. If you are similarly curious you’re going to love this section! Why, you may ask? And I’m glad you did, because it’s going to be a lot of fun! Creatives circle is a place for me to introduce you to an inspiring creative person each month via interview. I hope you will be similarly inspired by their passion, drive, stories and words of wisdom.
Coming up! In June I will be interviewing Michelle from Living with Bob (Dysautonomia) – we will be talking Dorothy shoes, Dysautonomia and Blogging. Michelle’s blog was the first thing I read about Dysautonomia that wasn’t medical, that wasn’t written by a doctor or medical company and involved a real, relatable person and their experiences with Dysautonomia. She made me feel like I wasn’t alone. She has brought giggles, hope and a sense of belonging to many people – plus she wears red glitter shoes to medical appointments! Can’t wait 😀
In July I will be interviewing the very creative Beccie from Sew Retro Rose who featured in my Ten Tips for Creating Pinup Perfect Skirts post. Beccie has been sewing with vintage patterns since 2011 and blogging about it along the way. Her blog is a great source of vintage sewing tips and her friendly writing style has encouraged an enthusiastic group of dedicated followers who love her sense of fashion and participate in regular virtual sew-alongs.
May 2015’s interview was with Shayna; Teacher by day in country Victoria and winner of many pinup competitions in her down-time. I’ve always thought Shayna and I have quite a bit in common, more than just our love of mid-century vintage fashion; we both have a broad range of creative interests and have our fingers in many different pies – this is both literal and figurative for Shayna as she is a pretty great baker! She also loves to get involved with community events and amongst other exciting events, has been a volunteer with the Ballarat Apron Festival for several years. Events like the apron festival fit in perfectly with her love of vintage fashion, sewing and supporting her local community! Read more…
April 2015’s creative circle interview was with the lovely Lady A Broad. Internationally published pinup model, graphic designer, wife, mother, fellow crazy bunny lady and winner of Australian and International pinup titles (including Viva Las Vegas Pinup 2013) – Lady A Broad is a force to be reckoned with! She has recently developed her own range of 1940’s styled accessories and homewares and they are stunning – join me in finding out more about this amazing lady.
